July 10, 2005, Toronto, ON - Tara MacLeod driving the Central Merchant Services entry finished in 24th position while competing in her very first closed street course race in the ATTO 100 at the Molson Indy CASCAR Super Series 11-turn, 2.824-km street circuit in Toronto Sunday.
"The Toronto Molson Indy was interesting, I will say that. I'm happy to complete the road courses for the season and get back to oval racing with the Central Merchant Services car" explained Tara MacLeod. "I plan to get some training on road course racing this winter, that should really help our program for next year."
Kerry Micks won the ATTO 100 followed by Peter Gibbons in second and Don Thomson Jr. in third as the CASCAR Super Series made its seventh consecutive appearance, part of the 20th Anniversary edition of the Molson Indy on the temporary road circuit at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
"We had two goals going into the Molson Indy, one was to finish in the top twenty and two was to leave Toronto for the western swing leading the Rookie standings," added MacLeod. "We did manage to accomplish one of our goals."
MacLeod currently leads the PowerWater CASCAR Super Series Rookie of the year standings, and is 16th in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship.
The next CASCAR Super Series race of the season, the MOPAR 500 Weekend at Race City Motorsport Park, Canada's finest high banked, half-mile oval, will take place July 22-23 in Calgary, Alberta.
