Toronto, ON – Driving the Central Merchant Services entry, rookie Tara MacLeod looks forward to competing in her very first closed street course race at the Molson Indy in Toronto this weekend.
“I’m a little nervous about this one, it’s a huge event and the course is pretty tight” she explained. ”I’ve taken a couple laps around the track in a street car, but that really can’t prepare me for the race. “
MacLeod heads into this race as she has all the others, looking to finish all the laps and leave the Molson Indy as the PowerWater rookie points leader.
The CASCAR Super Series will make its seventh consecutive appearance as part of the Molson Indy Toronto race weekend. And for the first time ever, Canada’s top home-grown racing series will be part of the Sunday feature program at the temporary Exhibition Place street circuit.
MacLeod currently leads the PowerWater CASCAR Super Series Rookie of the year standings, and is 15th in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship.
The Molson Indy will take place July 8-10 in Toronto on the 11-turn, 2.824 km street circuit.
