From SOS Insider,
Southern Ontario Sprint racer Tim Phillips is recovering in a Michigan hospital after successfully having surgery to remove the prostate cancer that he was diagnosed with earlier this year.
In speaking with his wife Pam, everything went very well and the doctors say the surgery was a success and Tim will be starting his road to recovery as soon as possible.
In discussions with Tim before the surgery, he stated that if everything goes well he will definitely be back in his sprinter in 2006 and has some special plans for the team when he returns. As many may or may not know, Tim purchased a brand new 2004 J&J Auto Racing chassis from 410 sprint racer Craig Keel and was ready to start the 2005 season before getting the mind blowing news that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and never got to turn a lap in the new mount.
Tim and Pam would like to thank everybody that has called and that they have talked to for keeping them in their prayers and the well wishes that have received for Tim's healthy recovery.
We will keep everybody updated on Tim's recovery.
