July 29, 2005, Vernon, BC – Tara MacLeod will make her first appearance at the scenic half-mile tri-oval at Sun Valley Motor Speedway in Vernon, British Columbia this weekend as part of the CASCAR Super Series.

Driving the Central Merchant Services Ford Taurus, the CASCAR rookie competitor is looking for good things.
“It will be the first time we will go into a race on an even playing field,” she stated. “I don’t think any of the eastern CASCAR Super Series drivers have ever raced at Vernon before. That should help the Central Merchant Services Team.”

MacLeod currently leads the PowerWater CASCAR Super Series Rookie of the year standings, and is 13th in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship.

“Calgary was good to us, as we had two great finishes last weekend,” said MacLeod. “After the race in Alberta we spent two days going over the car before the team got to take a couple of days off. It was great to spend some quality time with the team golfing, fishing, white water rafting and just kicking back and relaxing. Rob Harrison of Performance Driver Services Inc. arranged accommodations for the Central Merchant Services Team at Marble Canyon & Fairmont Creek Deluxe Condominiums in Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia.”

The CASCAR Super Series race at Sun Valley Motor Speedway in Vernon, British Columbia will take place Friday and Saturday, July 29-30.

Time trials will open the weekend racing program on Friday night (July 29). The drivers with the two best times will lock themselves into the top two starting positions for Saturday’s 300-lap feature event. Friday night’s racing program will also include a pair of 100-lap, full-points qualifying sprint races. These Twin 100s will set the rest of the field for Saturday’s main event.
