“This is one string that we don’t want to see be broken.”
Toronto, ON – Team Fastline driver Jeff Lapcevich has his sights set on completing a hat-trick this weekend at the 20th Anniversary running of the Molson Indy Toronto in the Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport #23 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
“Our string of five consecutive road course wins was recently broken,” explained Lapcevich. “The Fastline Team have been working hard, making improvements to both Jimmy’s car and to mine. This is one string that we don’t want to see be broken.”
In 2004, Jeff Lapcevich dominated the CASCAR Super Series competition at road courses by winning three events, including the Molson Indy Toronto and Vancouver for the second consecutive season a well as the challenging Mosport Road Course event.
“I would really love a podium finish and to share the stage with Jeff. That’s something that we have never done and it would be really special,” smiled an enthusiastic Jim Lapcevich. “I’ve been dreaming about that for years, me crossing the finish line for the checker and Jeff just behind me….of course.”
The CASCAR Super Series will make its seventh consecutive appearance as part of the Molson Indy Toronto race weekend. And for the first time ever, Canada’s top home-grown racing series will be part of the Sunday feature program at the temporary Exhibition Place street circuit.
Team Fastline drivers Jeff and Jim Lapcevich currently sit seventh and eleventh in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship.
The Molson Indy will take place July 8-10 in Toronto on the 11-turn, 2.824-km street circuit.
