DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 26, 2005) – Chris Spieker continued to pile up points this week in his quest to win this year’s championship in Division II of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series. The Massena, Iowa, Dirt Late Model driver has topped the standings nearly all season and leads the way this week with 1,048 points.

Spieker scored a win at his home track of Adams County Speedway on Saturday and then added to that with a runner-up finish at I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, Neb., on Sunday. NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Divisional point standings are calculated using each driver’s best 16 finishes from any races held at tracks within their division. Adams County Speedway and I-80 Speedway are both in Division II – meaning drivers can race at both tracks and accumulate points towards the title.

Joe Kosiski, of Omaha, Neb., remains second in the standings – 78 markers back – with 970 points. He finished fourth at I-80 Speedway on Sunday. Mike Hansen, of Alton, Iowa, solidified his third-place standing in Division II by winning a NASCAR Modified 20-lap feature at Park Jefferson Speedway on Saturday. With the victory, he boosted his point total to 836.

Jeff Strunk, of Bethel, Pa., remains fourth in the standings this week with 766; followed by Eric Richardson, of Bakersfield, Calif., in fifth with 712; and Travis Sharpe, of North, S.C., in sixth with 692.

Propelled by his sixth win of the season, Jonathan Bouvrette, of St. Therese, Quebec, continued his climb in the standings – moving up one spot this week to seventh with 654 points. Pete Anderson Jr., of Stockton, Calif., returned to the top 10 in the division standings after finishing third in the Western Late Model feature race at Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday. Stacey Gerken, of LaGrange, Ohio, remained ninth this week – while Robert Barker, of Boerne, Texas, retained the 10th spot after scoring his sixth win of the season on Saturday at San Antonio (Tex.) Speedway.
