Vancouver, Canada (July 27, 2005) - Sean McIntosh topped the time sheets in testing yesterday as the Formula Renault UK field headed to Snetterton for some extra track time in advance of Rounds 11 and 12 of the championship at the Norfolk circuit, 5th-7th August.

The 20-year-old Canadian, currently sitting fourth overall in the point standings, was quickly up to speed around the 1.952-mile track, consistently setting the pace in near perfect track conditions. Sean eventually recorded the benchmark time of 1m04.949s in the afternoon session with an average of 108.10mph.

With eight consecutive top-five qualifying starts and a victory at Donington to his credit already this season, Sean’s eager to turn yesterday’s testing pace into solid race results when he returns to Snetterton next month.

Reflecting on a successful test he commented:

I had a great time at Snetterton. The car ran really well straight off the back of the transporter and as a result I was able to set a consistent pace, keeping ahead of everyone even as the day progressed and lap times tumbled.

“The Formula Renault UK Championship is so close that any advantage you can find in terms of set-up is a bonus and I’m hopeful that having run well at the test we can convert that speed into decent results when we return to race here. The title fight is far from over and I intend to close the gap as we enter the second half of the season.”
