Tyler Brown finds a cause to race for!

Tyler Brown to use 4B Racing Dodge Intrepid to raise funds for CanWest Raise a Reader.

WATERDOWN, ONTARIO - Brown had to patiently wait for his 14th birthday, so he could finally compete in the Ontario Pro Challenge series. Finally that day has come; the 4B Racing/Assante Dodge Intrepid hits the track this Saturday at Peterborough Speedway, Ontario's fastest 1/3 mile track. While Brown is set to make history on the track as the youngest driver ever to compete in this high speed series, a mere 5 days after his birthday he also wants to get the most out of his new racer both on and off the track.

"Tyler has always wanted to use his racing to help raise funds for charity," says 4B Racing team owner Darrell Brown. "This year was a perfect time, as he is stepping up to cars. This morning on CH Morning Live in Hamilton Tyler announced an initiative to raise money for CanWest Raise a Reader charities."

"This Charity in near and dear to my heart" Tyler says. "First Raise a Reader is the corporate charity for Assante Wealth Management one of my sponsors, second when I was younger I had trouble reading and comprehending what was being read. I was lucky enough to work hard and with extra help manage to overcome the problem, now its time for me to step up and help others". Once the charity was chosen Tyler needed a way to raise funds, that is where Ken Whiting of Outdoor Travel in Hamilton came in. "I first met Tyler and his family when he was 8 years old racing go karts and when I heard that at age 14 Tyler had it in his mind to help others, donating the prize was the least I could do. Outdoor Travel has donated a one week motorhome vacation valued at $1,700.

Tyler will be making appearances throughout southwestern Ontario as well as at the tracks where we race from mid July until September 10th promoting the charity and he wants everyone to enter the draw for the motorhome vacation package. There is no cost to enter the draw, but hopes are that people will dig into their pocket and donate to the charity or donate a gently used book. The draw for the motorhome and the presentation of the cheque to CanWest Raise a Reader will be done on Saturday Sept 10th at Flamboro Speedway.
