BRYAN CATHCART GAINS THE MOST POSITIONS AT TORONTO

By Todd Lewis, TL Sports & Entertainment

July 11, 2005. Bryan Cathcart along with the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes team arrived in Toronto for round number five of the CASCAR Super Series season with their Dodge car well prepared for the concrete lined track at Exhibition place.

The Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes were immediately put behind the 8 ball during practice with only a handful of laps on the track due to a red flag situation. The result was a disappointing starting position of 25th on the grid. "We were a little off in the set up for the track so we ended up pretty far back" said the unsatisfied driver.

As is the norm on the Toronto track there were incidents early but Bryan Cathcart kept a cool head and steered the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge clear of the trouble spots. Quickly Bryan was able to move up into the top twenty. "In the race the car felt pretty good. I just tried to do my part and run consistently" said Cathcart. As the laps ticked away Cathcart continued to make progress, moving into the top fifteen and eventually claiming a well deserved 14th place finish. The improvement of 11 spots was the most made during the race.

"From where we started that's a really good result" said the driver. The car was very good all day long and I've got thank my team for that, they worked really hard to give me a good ride and it paid off".

Next up for Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge is the annual trip through Western Canada with stops at Race City Motorsports Park for the Mopar 500 Weekend and then onto Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon, BC.

The CASCAR Super Series is the only National Touring Series of Stock Car Racing in Canada. All CASCAR Super Series Races can be seen on Rogers Sportsnet and SPEED TV. For more information and to follow the progress of Bryan Cathcart and the CASCAR Super Series log onto www.cascar.ca.
