MacLeod's Central Merchant Services entry finishes 12th at Barrie


July 4, 2005 - Barrie, ON - Driving the Central Merchant Services entry, rookie Tara MacLeod finished 12th in the CASCAR Super Series at Barrie Speedway, the feature event of the Canada Day Northern 500 Weekend at Barrie Speedway.

"It was a hard race," explained MacLeod after the race. "Barrie Speedway is a tight, tough little track and I'm happy with our finish in the Central Merchant Services Ford."

Mark Dilley won the Dodge Charger 300 presented by the Dodge Dealers of Ontario followed closely by Kerry Micks in second and D.J. Kennington in third.

MacLeod currently leads the PowerWater CASCAR Super Series Rookie of the year standings, and is 16th in the 2005 CASCAR Super Series Points Championship.

The next CASCAR Super Series race of the season, at the Molson Indy, will take place July 8-10 in Toronto on the 11-turn, 2.824-km street circuit.

The Molson Indy Toronto will celebrate its 20th Running in 2005 and has become one of the country's premier annual sporting events. Auto racing through the streets of Exhibition Place in Toronto has been a summer tradition since 1986.
