TORONTO, ON – July 1, 2005 – CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor, Sasha Djurdjevic, will recognize a young kart racer’s efforts on July 31, 2005 at the Canadian Nationals Karting Championships. The new “Karting Sportsmanship Award” will be presented by Djurdjevic to the racer who most exemplifies sportsmanship.

Djurdjevic, a former racing champion is no stranger to the racetrack. “Managing investments is quite similar to motor racing: the desired results come from being conservative, using the best equipment and surrounding yourself with the top people. Creating this new award is a natural fit for me.”

Djurdjevic identifies with the participants’ efforts and their love for the sport. “I competed in formula cars and karts, domestically and internationally. Some of my old friends still drive, including a portion of the current Grand Prix grid. I hope that by recognizing sportsmanship and fairness, this award will help karting in Canada continue to grow.”
