MUSKEGON, Mich. - Brett Mann won Saturday night's Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt presented by Total Seal feature event at the Thunderbird Race Park in Muskegon, Michigan. Mann worked his way up from the fourth starting position and took the lead from Joe Bares on lap #10 and navigated lapped traffic to win the feature event. Mann was driving the Mann Enterprises, Wolfweld Chassis sponsored by LaneAutomotive, Weld Wheels, and Hoosier Tire.
Bares and J.R. Stewart were on the front row for the 25-lap feature event. Bares led the field into the first corner with Stewart and Mann in tow. Mann moved past Stewart on lap five and set off after Bares for the lead. On lap 10 Mann made the move around Bares for the lead. Stewart moved into second around Bares on lap 12, but then while working lap 14 Stewart went over a wheel of a lapped car and crashed hard into the turn four barrier. During the caution Darren Long also stopped and pulled off with mechanical problems.
Mann took the green with Bares and Rutan in tow. Aaron Shaffer and Bob Nash also were making their presence felt in the top five. Nash moved into the top five on lap 16 after starting ninth.
Up front though it was all Mann taking the victory - Bares held onto to second for 24 and ¾ of a lap until Ben Rutan snuck under Bares to take the runner up spot. Shaffer and Nash rounded out the top five.
