Rally of the Tall Pines celebrates Canada Day in Bancroft!

By Francis Richard

Richmond Hill, June 27, 2005 – The Rally of the Tall Pines will be celebrating Canada Day with the Town of Bancroft, Ontario this Friday. The organizing committee for the Rally of the Tall Pines, the 6th and final round on the 2005 Canadian Rally Championship, is excited to announce that we will be celebrating this year’s Canada Day with the Town of Bancroft, Ontario this Friday, July 1st.

Bancroft, “Ontario’s Most Talented Town”, is situated 2 hours North of Toronto and is the host sponsor of the 35th Rally of the Tall Pines, one of the largest and most respected rally events in North America. The Tall Pines will be on hand all day to give back to a great town that has always given so much to the event’s organizers, competitors and spectators.

The Town of Bancroft has organized a fun-filled day of activities for people of all ages starting with a parade through the downtown area at 10AM which will feature a number of rally cars representing all levels of rally competition in Canada.

The Tall Pines has teamed up with Team Triplus (Alan Ryall & Glenn Hamilton) to bring you the Official Tall Pines Rally Car.

The car has been prepared by Four Star Motorsports of Georgetown, Ontario, a sponsor of the Tall Pines. The official rally car will be used as a promotional tool for the Tall Pines at other race events in which Team Triplus plans to compete, at promo days for event sponsors, and will also be displayed at various other events leading up to race weekend on November 25-26th, 2005.

“We hope to bring the excitement of Canadian rallying to people that may not even know that it’s happening right in their backyards, and at the same time offer our sponsors added exposure outside of the late November event. Marketing is a year round effort for the Tall Pines” remarks Richard Hepburn, the Rally of the Tall Pines Coordinator. “The Rally of the Tall Pines is the grand-daddy of rallying in Canada and we’re excited to be involved” boasts
Ryall.

In addition to being a competitor, Ryall is a business owner and fellow-sponsor of Team Triplus and understands the need for effective use of marketing resources. His partnership with the Tall Pines is just that. “It’s a great feeling to be promoting a sport with such explosive growth potential and at the same time be promoting my business. It truly is the best of both worlds” claims Ryall.

Another car on display at this Friday’s Canada Day festivities will be a production-based Mazda 323 rally car driven by twenty-nine-year-old Jen Horsey. Horsey is the driving half of Lo-Fi Racing, the only all-female rally crew in Canada. She and co-driver J.J. Collins started racing a year ago to prove that anything boys can do, girls can do too. The pair is contesting the Ontario Performance Rally Championship this year in a production-based Mazda 323.

Look for Jen at the display on Canada Day. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off the long weekend than to be in Bancroft and celebrate Canada Day and we encourage everyone to head up and participate in the celebrations” says Hepburn, about this Friday’s appearance.

A full schedule of the events can be found on the Tall Pines web site. Festival participants are invited to stop by the rally car display as well as the Tall Pines merchandise booth this Friday from 11AM to dusk. Participants and organizers will be on hand to celebrate Canada Day and answer any questions about the rally of the Tall Pines - coming soon to a road near you this November. Let the countdown begin!
