THOROLD, ONTARIO … Racing at Merrittville Speedway July 9th will feature another exciting and unpredictable Ladies Race for the Cup Event.
Bryan L. Fretz CFP Night at the races will also feature the 5 division action-packed Dirt Weekly Racing Series of L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modified, Original Pizza Logs Sportsmen, Dwarf Cars/ Mod Lites, Hoosier Stocks and Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders
In the two previous Ladies Race Events, as part of the Pen Centre Night May 7th and the Ball Hockey International /Niagara Lions & Glen Rolston event June 12th – thee have been two different winners.
Defending Series Champion, and current point leader, Christine Porter won the opener and appeared to have the second one won before a late race breakdown sent her spinning down the frontstretch. Karen Kocarik – who has made the trip to Victory Lane in her husband Kevin’s 7K Hoosier Stock numerous times – came home the winner.
Two regular Saturday night competitors – Dan Miller and Alan Sleight will both be looking for their first feature wins of the season. Miller is a veteran of the L. St. Amand 358 Division and has been running strong all year. Sleight is a rookie in the Sportsmen Division and also has had some strong runs in his # 3 that is powered by a GM Crate Engine.
Both drivers are sponsored by Bryan L. Fretz and will be set up in the grandstands prior to race time.
