CHALLENGER MOTOR FREIGHT/LOGEL'S AUTO PARTS TEAM EARN ANOTHER TOP TEN FINISH
By JAJ Entertainment
June 20, 2005 - Brad Graham and the Challenger Motor Freight/Logel's auto parts Charger have had their struggles through the first couple of races on the CASCAR Super Series Schedule. However the team felt they were making steady progress and expecting a better result at the first road course event of the season at the Mosport International Raceway. The 10 turn road course is a great challenge for the CASCAR drivers.
During the two Saturday qualifying sessions Brad and the team continued to make adjustments to the Challenger Motor Freight/Logel's Auto Parts car and came up with an 11th best qualifying lap.
The plan for the race was to watch how the race developed and be ready for the scheduled pit stop at any time. On this world class road course input from the driver for car adjustments is vital. However Brad was experiencing radio problems right from the beginning and the crew couldn't hear him. The team made an early stop which proved to be the right call, but only changed two tires. "We should have changed all four," Graham would say afterwards. Things worked out pretty well but might have been better if we had done four tires.”
Brad managed to stay out of trouble which is easy to find at Mosport and came across the finish line with the first top ten finish of the season, claiming 8th spot. "It's nice to get this one; it's certainly something we can build on going forward. I'm happy for the whole team they've been working really hard" stated the driver.
The CASCAR Super Series resumes competition in two weeks on the Canada Day weekend as teams head to Barrie Speedway and their new configuration.
The CASCAR Super Series is Canada's only sanctioned National touring stock car racing series competing from coast to coast. CASCAR stages events at the most famous oval tracks in Canada such as Cayuga Speedway and Delaware Speedway and also competes on temporary street circuits at the Molson Indy events.
