BRYAN CATHCART GETS A HANDLE ON SHIFTER TROUBLES

By JAJ Entertainment

June 20, 2005. Round number three of the CASCAR Super Series with Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes team saw the team set for the first road course event of the season on the famed course at Mosport International Raceway.

With most of Bryan's experience on the oval tracks the road courses present a special challenge for the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes team. "We know we're not the most experienced road racers but everybody worked really hard to get this car ready" said Cathcart "unfortunately we only managed 21st on the starting grid.”

Unfazed by their starting spot the team set to work on the race and made steady progress through the field. During the teams scheduled pit stop service was perfect by the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes crew and Cathcart began moving up through the field and eventually running in the top ten.

Troubles arose for Bryan in the late stages. Following a restart he began slipping back and the crew was unsure of the problem. Forced to make a green flag pit stop it was determined that a problem with the shifter wasn't allowing Bryan to drive smoothly and he would lose significant track position while quick repairs were made. However Cathcart was still able to snag a 15th place finish in the 51 lap race.

"I'm really proud of the team today" said Cathcart after the race. "We had really good pit stops but this shifter problem cost us what would have been an even better finish.”

Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge resume competition on the Canada Day weekend at the newly configured Barrie Speedway.
