SUNSET SPEEDWAY, Ontario Pro Challenge series Rookie of the Year contender Brad LeLiever scored his first top five of the year in the 20-lap feature at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night. "It was an action packed race to say the least," said LeLiever. "I am happy to get this top-five-finish for our Holgate Motorsports Team."

The race night featured two feature races, one to make up for the rained out season opener and the regular feature. After the first feature, LeLiever had completed his rookie orientation program and was able to take his regular place among the field.

In heat one, LeLiever immediately put that position to good use as he finished a strong third. In the second heat his Barrie Honda/Georgian/Thermoseal Industries Monte Carlo was too loose and he finished ninth. In the feature, the team fixed the car and LeLiever was in the heat of the battle all race long.

A late race caution, and subsequent restart gave LeLiever the opportunity he was looking for. "Cars were spinning and hitting each other on the restart, and I got a little involved, but not too bad." LeLiever said. One more restart later and LeLiever crossed the line fifth, his best feature result of the year.

"It is great to be able to start where you are supposed to," LeLiever said. "It's a little hectic out there, with all the cars this close in performance. It was just one train front to back - and we're learning each time out."
