SEAN STAFFORD AND THE LE WALKER CHEVY BATTED AROUND AT MOSORT

By JAJ Entertainment

June 20, 2005. Sean Stafford and the #42 LE Walker Transport Chevrolet team were looking forward to returning to Mosport International Raceway, the sight of Sean's first CASCAR Super Series race, for round three of the 2005 championship.

The team prepared vigorously during Saturday practice but was unable to gain more than a 23rd starting spot on the grid. "I'm not sure exactly why" stated Sean afterwards, we'll just have to ride along and see what happens in the race.”

Even the most cautious of drivers can find trouble on the challenging 10 turn circuit at Mosport, and trouble would find Sean Stafford and the LE Walker Chevrolet.

Sean was trying to settle in and develop a rhythm around the circuit, was beginning to feel comfortable and starting to try and make his way up through some of the traffic in front of him. After making a clean pass there was contact with the number 3 car that sent Sean and the LE Walker Chevy off course, crashing heavily in turn 8, damaging both the front and rear of the car. "I was trying to run clean and avoid any contact" said Stafford afterwards "but he just ran me off the track"

The LE Walker Chevy was hauled back to pit lane where the crew made repairs and were able to return Sean to competition. "It didn't look pretty but it was worth it" exclaimed Mid America Motorsports President Dave Didero. We actually gained about eight spots by going back out; we have to think of the big picture all the time".

Next up for the CASCAR Super Series competitors will be a visit to the newly reconfigured oval at Barrie Speedway for the Canada Day Shoot out weekend. Plenty of activities with a pit stop competition and more will be part of the festivities.
