Pete Shepherd Jr. is currently testing the #50 Dodge Charger at Barrie Speedway in advance of next weekend's CASCAR Super Series race at the newly reconfigured oval.
Last year's top rookie is returning to action at Barrie - after a one-race hiatus - and is looking for sponsorship support for the remainder of the Super Series season. The #50 team is returning to action under the new Shepherd Motorsports banner.
We at Inside Track have known Petey and the Shepherd family for many years and we are proud to join others in the racing community who are working to get him back on track for the rest of the season.
He is a talented racer and a fine young gentleman. He proved last season that he is ready to contend for race wins. He is also pursuing a career in broadcast journalism, so he would be an excellent representative for any company wishing to promote its goods and/or services through Canadian motorsports.
The bottom line is that it would be a shame for one Canada's future stars to be left sitting on the sidelines for even one more race.
