Round Four: New Skyview Drags track next stop in PMRA Tour

“This track is as smooth as glass”

August 15, 2005, Cayuga, ON - The Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), www.promodifiedracing.com is looking forward to racing at Skyview Drags Saturday, August 20, the fourth stop in this year’s PMRA series.

Located near Binghamton, NY, at Tioga Center, the Skyview Drags event will be the second half of the series’ New York tour with the Pro Modifieds running at Lancaster Motorsports Park the night before.

The Skyview Drags eighth-mile track was built only last year, and those who have raced on it are pleased with the surface of the IHRA-sanctioned strip.

“This track is as smooth as glass,” said PMRA competitor Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda, NY. “It’s extremely smooth and none of the guys should have problems getting down this track nice and straight.”

The Grainy Brothers and their Beretta will be one of several PMRA teams from the Empire State to race at Skyview Drags. Other New Yorkers include Mark Mitchell of East Otto, Joe Lilienthal of Kenmore, and Medina’s Mike Stawicki.

PMRA teams from Ontario who will be at Skyview Drags include Joe Boniferro of Niagara Falls, Mark Nielsen of Brantford, Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Dave Earhart of Strathroy, Kasey Janzen of Niagara Falls and Welland’s Larry Sinke.

Qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, with eliminations at 8:30 p.m. for the quickest four teams. The Chicago-style shootout and finals are to take place at 10:00 p.m.
