Jim Lapcevich taking the Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport Fastline Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo Team to Cayuga

August 10, 2005, Hamilton, ON – Jim Lapcevich, driver of the number 25 Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport Fastline Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo, always looks forward to competing at Cayuga Speedway.

“Cayuga Speedway is home for Team Fastline, we have raced there for years and we have many sponsors, family and friends there,” said Lapcevich. “Fastline has a long history of racing at Cayuga and it is going to be really important to do well there.”

Since 1966, Cayuga Speedway has been synonymous with the best in racing, and is regarded by fans, racers and sponsors alike as Canada’s premier racing facility. Cayuga Speedway, Canada’s “Crown Jewel”, has always been at the forefront of Canadian championship stock car racing. Originally a dirt track, the 5/8ths-mile oval facility was paved in 1968.

Over the years, Cayuga Speedway’s “Special Event” presentations, there have been a host of internationally famous competitors to take on the locals, including Bobby Allison, Davey Allison, Donnie Allison, Buddy Baker, Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliott, Alan Kulwicki, Sterling Marlin, Mark Martin, Tim Richmond, Rusty Wallace and Darrell Waltrip. Some of the “locals'' learned well, honing their driving talents and becoming famous in their own right. Names like Hall-of-Famers Junior Hanley, Earl Ross, and Don Biederman refined their talents at the Cayuga oval with some fine racing, and then headed south of the border.

The CASCAR Super Series race will take place Sunday, August 14 on the 5/8th-mile oval at Cayuga Speedway, located at Nelles Corners, Ontario.
