HALIFAX, NS (2005 May 26) - A special promotion for this weekend's double-header at Scotia Speedworld will see holders of advance tickets purchased for The PRO—LINE 100 on Saturday get FREE grandstand admission to Friday nights Budweiser Weekly Racing show.
The PRO—LINE 100 was originally scheduled for May 22 but heavy rain forced a postponement to this Saturday (May 28). With the season opener for the Budweiser Weekly Racing show already scheduled for Friday (May 27) - a double header weekend will wave the green flag on the 05 season at Scotia Speedworld.
"We thought a promotion like this would provide extra value and entertainment for our fans," said Ken Cunning, general manager of Scotia Speedworld. "It's a great opportunity to come out and see the great fun-filled, fast-paced family show our weekly racers will provide every Friday night."
Five divisions comprise the Budweiser Weekly Racing show: the C&R Auto Supply Sportsman, the Nova Automotive Hobby Stock, the Miller Tire BFGoodrich Thunder & Lightning divisions, and the new for 2005 RV Contacts Legends. Each division sees qualifying heat races, consolation races (if necessary, deemed by car count) and a feature race.
The Pepsi Pre-Race Show starts the show at 7 pm and racing follows at 7:30. The grandstand will open at 5:30 pm. Regular prices for grandstand admission to Friday's show are $12 for adults and $2 for youth (8-15). Children 7 and under get in free. All those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15 and restricted to those 16 and over. HST is included in all admission.
Saturday, The PRO—LINE 100 for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour will highlight the show. Two rounds of qualifying (Motor Mart Time Trials and GM Goodwrench Service Heat Races) will set the stage for 100-laps of door-handle to door-handle competition among the 25 of the best stock car racers in Eastern Canada. Thirty-four teams are expected to enter The PRO LINE 100 - round one of 11 for the 2005 edition of the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour. Also included in Saturday's show are the season openers for the Sportsman Super Series and Legends Tour. Motor Mart Time Trials go at 3:20 pm and racing starts at 4 pm. The grandstand will open at 1 pm.
Grandstand admission for The PRO—LINE 100 on Saturday is just $22 for adults, $5 for youth (8-15) and children 7 and under are admitted free. All children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25 and restricted to those 16 and older. HST is included in all admission prices.
