Roush Fenway GM high on their new Truck driver

In a release touting the driver of the Roush Fenway Racing #50 Truck next weekend at Martinsville Speedway, RFR GM Max Jones had this to say:

"[THE DRIVER] has done everything we've asked him to do. The goal at the beginning of every race has been to finish every lap and learn as much as possible and that's exactly what he's done. He's one of the hardest working drivers I've seen in a while. He's in the shop, watching practices, participating in pit practice, talking to our other drivers, just trying to learn as much as possible and that shows. We feel like he'll do a good job for us in the truck at Martinsville."

Sounds like he's talking about Canadian Pete Shepherd, who by all accounts has done all of those things. But he's not. And while team co-owner Jack Roush has said many glowing things about Shepherd - comparing him to a young Mark Martin - I can't recall seeing Jones ever comment on Shepherd finishing virtually every lap, working out, showing up at the shop every day, talking to the other RFR drivers, watching and learning at every opportunity, etc. Hmm.

Colin Braun will be driving the #50 at M-ville.
