SOD: “Canadian Wilderness Tour II” Opens Saturday Night at South Buxton

The second annual “Canadian Wilderness Tour” for the “Engine Pro, Sprints On Dirt presented by Total Seal” touring series kicks off it’s 2005 edition with a twenty-five lap feature event at South Buxton Raceway this Saturday night, May 28.

This year’s edition will feature a four race series with two of the shows being contested at South Buxton while the other two races will be hosted at Glenn Styres Ohsweken Speedway. The final show of the mini-series will be held at Ohsweken and will pay $5,000 to win the “Canadian Sprint Car Nationals”.

As was the prerequisite in the inaugural season, in order to collect points toward the mini-series payout, teams must be a paid Sprints On Dirt member. Again, Glenn and Tina Styres of Ohsweken along with Ken and Cheryl Pelkie of Kenetic Photos have put a $2,000 fund up to be distributed among the top ten point scorers of the four race mini-series. Last year’s winner was Dustin Daggett who collected $400 for his efforts.
Other dates include Ohsweken Speedway on August 26; South Buxton on August 27; and the final at Ohsweken on September 17. Cash will be distributed at the respective season end awards banquets for the participants. Gates open at 4:30 Saturday night with racing scheduled for 7:00 PM.

But before South Buxton, The SOD teams will head south to Limaland Motorsports Park Friday night for a $2,500 to win SOD vs NRA Challenge race. Last season it was J.R. Stewart taking the checkers in this event over Dustin Daggett with Tim Norman closing in fast on the front runners. Gates will open at 4:00 with racing scheduled for 7:30 PM.
