Meet Mario Andretti June 11 from 1-3 pm at Tirecraft Auto on Kipling Avenue
TORONTO, Ontario (May 30, 2005) – Racing legend Mario Andretti will greet fans and sign autographs Saturday, June 11 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Tirecraft’s newest Auto Center located at 1976 Kipling Avenue (one block north of 401). Andretti, a longtime spokesman for ChevronTexaco, will be in town to promote Tirecraft’s grand opening.
Mario Andretti is one of the most celebrated drivers in racing history and his name is synonymous with winning. He took the checkered flag 111 times during his career – a career that stretched five decades.
He was named Driver of the Year in three different decades (the 60s, 70s, and 80s), Driver of the Quarter Century (in the 90s) and he was named Driver of the Century by the Associated Press and RACER magazine in January, 2000.
A four-time Champ Car national champion, Mario Andretti is the only driver to win the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and Formula One World Championship.
