NCATS: Disheartening finish for Micks at Kawartha

FRASERVILLE, ONTARIO (September 23, 2007) – Kerry Micks did not finish his season on a high note.

Driving the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Taurus, the stock car driver finished 14th in the Dodge Dealers of Ontario Dodge Charger 250 Sunday night at Kawartha Speedway.

"I'm disappointed, this is not the way we wanted to finish the season," he said after the race, the final event in the 12-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. "We were capable of winning everywhere we ran this year season. We also had good support from our sponsors, and I'm pleased with that."

Scott Steckly won the Dodge Dealers of Ontario Dodge Charger 250 presented by Allied Steel Buildings followed by Peter Gibbons in second and Ron Beauchamp, Jr. third.

"When the season started it looked like we would be able to run only a partial schedule," added Micks. "BDI stepped up and gave us the sponsorship we needed and we're thankful they did. The teams that run this series continue to entertain the fans at every venue that was obvious by the number of people in the seats."

The race had nine lead changes between four drivers and nine cautions for 61 laps, Kerry Micks started tenth in the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford on the 3/8th-mile, high banked, asphalt oval in Fraserville, Ontario.

Micks 46, of Mount Albert, Ontario, finished the 2007 season in seventh position in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Top 10 Driver Points with six top-five finishes, including wins at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal and on the road circuit at the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières.

Beyond Digital Imaging Inc. (BDI), Canadian Detailing Services, Cathcart Trucking and APX Racing Gear and Incentives Inc., Nur America, and HP Canada are sponsors of Micks Motorsports.
