Girls Lacrosse: Loudoun Valley Players Make Northwest Region Team

(June 7, 2011) - The Northwest Region girls lacrosse team has been released and Loudoun Valley High School placed four players on the first team.

Lacrosse: Loudoun Teams Fight Hard but Fall in State Quarterfinals

(June 7, 2011) - Three Loudoun lacrosse team battled over the weekend in the VHSL state quarterfinals but the Briar Woods High School boys and Loudoun Valley and Woodgrove girls all saw their seasons come to a close.

The Falcons led, 6-1, at the half but couldn't not stop Albemarle for the big comeback.

Golf: Long-Time Viking Coaching Fixture Gary McKay Retires

(June 2, 2011) - Loudoun Valley High School golf coach Gary McKay, who retired from the Purcellville school a year ago after 34 years as a math teacher, will not return in the fall as the Vikings golf coach.

(June 2, 2011) - Tuscarora High School wrestling coach, a Loudoun Valley graduate, is returning home as he has been hired as the Vikings new Assistant Athletic Director.

Barden, formerly an assistant wrestling coach at Loudoun County, was hired a year ago to start the new Huskies program.

Girls Basketball: Broad Run Hires JV Boys Coach Chris Pasternak as New Coach

(June 2, 2011) - Broad Run High School has hired boys junior varsity coach Chris Pasternak as the school's new girls basketball varsity coach.

In other hiring news, Loudoun Valley wrestling coach Troy Mezzatesta, will coach the Vikings golf team in the fall, taking over for long-time coach Gary McKay.

College Signing: Loudoun Valley Golfer Scott Davidson to Tee it Up at Wilmington University


Purcellville (Mar. 3, 2011) - Loudoun Valley High School senior all-state golfer Scott Davidson has accepted a full ride scholarship to tee it up next year at NCAA Division II Wilmington University in Delaware.

Girls Basketball: Heritage Freshman Kayla Tibbs Named First Team All-Cedar Run District

(Feb. 17, 2011) - Heritage High School freshman Kayla Tibbs, who has helped the Pride toe school's best ever regular season and first ever regional playoff bid, has been named first team All-Cedar Run District in a vote of the coaches.
