Girls Soccer: Broad Run, Heritage and Woodgrove All Advance to State Semifnals

(June 8, 2011) - 3-time defending AA girl soccer state champion Broad Run High School advancing to the state semifinals in Radford with an easy 5-1 win over Jamestown Tuesday did not raise many eyebrows.

On the other hand, first-year Woodgrove, a school with no seniors and the No. 6 seed in the Dulles District, winning 4-1 on the road at Warhill to advance to Radford was certainly surprising.

Girls Soccer: Broad Run's Church is Region II Player of the Year; Spartans Collins is Coach of the Year



(June 7, 2011) - The Broad Run High School girls soccer team, which opens its quest for a fourth straight state title by hosting Jamestown tonight at 5 p.m. in a state tournament quarterfinal, has swept the Region II awards with senior Whitney Church named Player of the Year and Claire Collins named Coach of the Year.

Girls Soccer: Heritage Places Three on Northwest Region Team

(June 7, 2011) - The Heritage High School girls soccer team, which plays tonight at Deep Run in the AAA state tournament quarterfinals, has placed three players on the All-Northwest Region team including senior Caitlin Kick and freshman Natalie Perussault on the first team.

Girls Soccer: Broad Run Girls Win 5th Straight Region II Title

Ashburn (June 4, 2011) - The Broad Run High School girls soccer team clinched their fifth consecutive Region II title with a convincing 5-1 win over Dulles District rival Woodgrove Friday night.


The Wolverines are no strangers to the Spartans who have played each other four times this season including this year’s District championship game.

Friday Playoff Schedule: Three Lax Teams Open State Tournament; Six Loudoun Teams Play for Region II Titles; 11 Total in Action!

(June 3, 2011) - A very busy June Friday playoff schedule has three Loudoun lacrosse teams on the road as the state tournament opens and six teams playing locally for Region II titles and the chance to host a state quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Girls Soccer: Heritage Shifts Regional Semifinal Start Time to 8 p.m.

(June 1, 2011) - Heritage High School has shifted tonight's Northwest Region semifinal girls soccer match with Riverbend to an 8 p.m. start. The Pride advanced with a 4-1 quarterfinal win at Patrick Henry in Roanoke with Natalie Perussault scoring all four goals.

Girls Soccer: Stone Bridge's Emily Fredrikson and Julia Harmison Hold College Signing Ceremony


(Mar. 2, 2011) - The defending AAA state champion Stone Bridge High School girls soccer team celebrated two seniors heading to the college ranks next year as Emily Fredrikson and Julia Harmison held signing ceremonies Tuesday. Fredrikson, a key defender for the Bulldogs, will play next year at William and Mary and Harmison, the Bulldogs starting keeper, will play at Carnegie Mellon.

Soccer: Foxcroft School to Host Free Clinic for Ages 6-16 on Sat. Feb. 26

Middleburg (Feb. 21, 2011) - Coerver Coaching of Virginia will hold a soccer clinic for children ages 6-16 on Saturday, February 26, at Foxcroft School. The clinic, which is free, will run from 11 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.


(In case of inclement weather, the event will move into Foxcroft's spacious Athletic/Student Center.)
