Ohsweken Speedway: Iroquois Poker Presents Round 2 of Ohsweken Speedway Friday Night Thunder

OHSWEKEN, ON - Great racing was the order of the day as the first racing events of Ohsweken Speedway's 2008 season took the green flag on May 16, and more of the same is expected this coming Friday, May 23. This week, Iroquois Poker presents Round 2 of Friday Night Thunder featuring the Fun Stocks, ESSO Mini-Stocks, ESSO Thunder-Stocks, and Winged Sprint Cars presented by Corr/Pak Merchandising.

Last week Karl Sault took the first ever Fun Stock checkered flag, while Abel Castelein began defense of his ESSO Mini-Stock track championship in fine fashion, taking the checkered flag in the 15 lap feature after a hard-fought battle with Rick Robinson.

Cody MacPherson also visited Engine Pro Racing/Melling Performance Pumps/Ferrara Valves Victory Lane Friday night, serving notice to 2nd place finisher Brad Bacher and the rest of the ESSO Thunder-Stock competitors that there is a new contender in town.

In the inaugural event for the Winged Sprint Cars presented by Corr/Pak Merchandising, Glenn Styres ended a 2 year winless drought by dominating the 20 lap feature, but Fred Cade, Rob Pietz, and a host of other drivers are sure to challenge for feature wins and the track championship all season long.

Advanced reserved seat ticket orders for the World of Outlaws Late Models June 19, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars July 22 and 23, and Canadian Sprint Car Nationals September 12 and 13 continue to be taken, while previously ordered tickets should be arriving in your mailbox within the next two weeks.

The June 1 deadline for 2 day ticket packages for the World of Outlaws Sprints is fast approaching. Please visit http://www.ohswekenspeedway/ and call 1-888-720-RACE to order yours today!
