Online petition to find a replacement for Calgary's Race City Motorsport Park

The online petition is located here.

A Calgary Sun article (from Jan. 14) on this topic can be found here (h/t to ITMN Facebook Group member Shawn Bishop for the heads up).

A forum discussion about this issue is happening here.

The text of the petition to the City of Calgary Aldermanic Office:

Re: Race City Motorsport Park
We are writing in support of your initiative to find a new location for Race City Motorsport Park. There is an overwhelming majority of motorsport enthusiasts in this city who are law abiding responsible citizens who seek to continue enjoying their sport at a proper facility in a safe and legal manner.
With the recent media attention given to street “racing” and the enactment of several laws to discourage it, the availability of proper racing facilities can only make the streets safer for all. In addition to providing a safe and legal place for people to race, the industry is a major source of revenue for many businesses operating in Calgary.
The City of Calgary should make it a priority to see that facilities are made available for motorsport racing events. These types of events can be a large source of tourism income as well as another one of the many things Calgary has to offer to people. Following is a petition of people who are interested in supporting the initiative to find a new location for the operation of a racing facility in Calgary.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
