Skipper Daniel Vettori said on Monday that New Zealand should focus on their own game and not worry about the formidable Pakistan in their World Cup match on Tuesday.
Pakistan, inspired by Captain Shahid Afridi, who took the best of the tournament-14 windows with his leg-spin, won all three games and lead Group A with six points.
New Zealand beat Kenya and Zimbabwe with ten wickets, but lost to Australia by seven wickets, have four points from three matches.
"The game, as against most teams have on yourself and try to find out how you can actually get the best out of yourself because that's about where we descended into the past," said Vettori.
Captain, half lost in a one-day series in Pakistan, which ended just last month, said he was looking for consistency.
"We were not able to make that team a consistent performance together, and that's what we call," said Vettori, whose team was whitewashed one-day series against Bangladesh and India last year.
