Sheffield's Magnomatics appoints new Chairman

Magnomatics, the Sheffield based high technology company specialising in the development of innovative electro mechanical solutions, is pleased to announce it has appointed the former President of Rolls Royce Gas Turbine Operations, Dr. Michael Lloyd, as Chairman, with immediate effect.

Michael Lloyd has extensive knowledge of the industrial sector, as well as considerable experience in the defence, nuclear and aerospace sectors, all of which are important markets for Magnomatics.

As well as leading complex, global multi-functional organisations, he has also driven through technologically innovative global projects to budget, whilst championing modern lean manufacturing, project management and global supply chain programmes. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering & Technology; Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers; Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineers.

He is also an industrial adviser to Unipart and a Non Executive Director of the Office of Rail Regulation.
