GUELPH, Ontario - October 1, 2007- Shortly after Jason Shaw and crew of the #82 Spira Fire Protection Ford Fusion were crowned WWS (Weekend Warrior Series) Cup and Elite champions, Flamboro Speedway home series champions and won the prestigious Oktoberfest Classic this past weekend at Flamboro Speedway, Ken Spira announced the return of Spira Fire Protection as the teams primary sponsor for 2008.
The Shaw Motorsports teams dedication to excellence both on and off the track, as well as their commitment to family and friends reflects the ideals of Spira Fire Protection and explains the comfortable fit between us. My wife Carol and I have made a great deal of friends through our association with Shaw Motorsports. The five cars sponsored by Spira Fire Protection this past weekend at Flamboro, is more a tribute to those racing families that have become very close and dear friends. The countless friendships generated since our first contact with Shaw Motorsports over 7 years ago including track owners, officials, drivers, crew members and associated family members, made the decision to continue supporting the Shaw Motorsports team an easy one. As well as our corporate sponsorship, both Carol and I will continue to play an active roll in the day to day operations of Shaw Motorsports, said Ken Spira, company president.
Being able to represent Spira Fire Protection is definitely an honor and the commitment that Ken & Carol make in support of our program is very uncommon compared to other competitors, how many guys bring their sponsor to the race track and put them to work? The Spira family has made a lasting impression on Shaw Motorsports and on local racing in general - we are very lucky to have their help, said driver Jason Shaw.
Shaw Motorsports are based in Guelph Ontario and travel throughout the province to several racetracks were they compete in regular series and special events. For more information, visit www.spira.on.ca/shaw
