GRAND-AM KONI CHALLENGE TO RETURN TO MOSPORT IN 2008

GRAND-AM KONI CHALLENGE TO RETURN TO MOSPORT IN 2008
Two 400 km championship races to run on Father's Day Weekend, June 13-15

(BOWMANVILLE, ON - October 16, 2007) Mosport International Raceway will once again host the international and domestic high performance sports cars and coupes of the U.S.-based Grand-Am KONI Challenge as part of the Father's Day Doubleheader Weekend, June 13-15, 2008.

Mosport is the fourth stop on the 10-race 2008 championship that will open at Daytona on January 25, and includes events at Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen and Trois Rivieres, before concluding at Virginia International Raceway in early October. Mosport will host two 400 km championship races, one for the Grand Sport (GS) class and another for the Street Tuner (ST)
division.

"We're excited to have the Grand-AM KONI Challenge returning next year. Both GS and ST classes feature lots of great racing action and many talented Canadian and international drivers," said Mosport President and General Manager Myles Brandt. "These races are very popular with our fans and it is one of the reasons we expect Father's Day Weekend to continue to be one of our biggest events of the year," Brandt said.

The Grand-Am KONI Challenge showcases the latest in high performance sports cars and coupes straight from the showroom floor at top circuits in the United States and Canada. The GS division features powerful sport coupes such as Mustangs and Porsches, while the ST class boasts a roster of quick and agile machines from such marques as Acura, BMW and Mazda.

Behind the wheel of these cutting-edge sports cars are many of the world's finest road racers, which this season included David Empringham and Scott Maxwell (both from Toronto), who drive for Mustang-powered teams in the GS class, and Karl Thomson (Toronto) who drives an Acura TSX for Markham, ON-based Kensai Racing in the ST division.

The Grand-Am KONI Challenge will share the spotlight on Father's Day Weekend with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the second annual Dickies 200.
