Don Thomson Jr Looks To Rebound From Rough Start To Season

DELAWARE, ON (June 5, 2009) – Don Thomson, Jr. is looking forward to returning to the London area to compete in this weekend's Delaware 200. Thomson has had many epic battles on the Soutern Ontario speedway's half mile oval and plans on re-asserting his pre-season testing form.

"I can't wait to get back to Delaware this weekend," stated the 5 time National Champion. "Delaware is a track that's great for the fans and for the longest time was the centre of stock car racing in Canada. I have won here before and I can tell you it's a very special place."

Thomson's season has started off a little rougher than he would have liked. In the Tufoil 250 at St. Eustache two weeks ago, round one on the calendar. He was running competitively in 2nd place and looking forward to a strong start to the season before being unceremoniously bumped and spun into the wall with 15 laps to go. The ensuing damage relegated Thomson to a 9th place finish and two solid weeks of repairs to the Home Hardware car.

"We had quite a bit of damage to the Home Hardware Chevy but managed to get it all done and ready for this weekend, which is a testament to how hard the guys in the shop here work. We're ready to go," he added.

Thomson will take to the track on Saturday, June 6, for the Delaware 200.
