Jason Sharpe sent me the following update following J.R. Fitzpatrick's recent ARCA test at Daytona.
"J.R. Fitzpatrick has just wrapped up three successful days of testing at Daytona International Speedway.
In single car runs on Friday, J.R. and the team struggled to find the speed. They knew the car was built more for superspeedway drafting as opposed to qualifying but they worked hard at making it much faster and picked up several tenths.
During drafting practice J.R. proved to be a quick learner, and with the help of veteran Cup Series driver Tony Raines he finished Day 2 2nd fastest.
Day 3 had J.R. at the top of the speed chart most of the day. The team decided to shut down early and loaded up. In the end, J.R. closed out the day second fastest again.
More news coming soon.
Thanks for all of you support.
Jason."
