MT. ALBERT, ON – Fresh off his dramatic wins at the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières and the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal Kerry Micks and the Beyond Digital Imaging Micks Motorsports Team will be one of the favorites at this weekend’s Subway 200 at Cayuga Speedway in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.
“The win in Trois-Rivières moved us into fourth position in the Top 10 Driver Points,” stated Kerry Micks. “Don’t count this team out. We’ve got more to prove.”
With his win at the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières Kerry Micks became the third two-time winner this season in the Canadian Tire Series. He joins J.R. Fitzpatrick and Don Thomson Jr. in the honor.
“We’re in striking distance of the second and third spot in the points with the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford,” added Micks. “Over the years we’ve had some big wins at Cayuga.”
One of Kerry Micks biggest wins came at Cayuga on Labor Day Weekend in 1989 during the Fourth Annual McKerlie-Millen Classic.
“That was a big deal, we qualified on the pole and lead every lap in that 50-lap race,” said Micks. “The place was packed with fans and race cars. I drove the race with one hand because I had a transmission problem and won $2,500.00”
The green flag will drop for the Subway 200 Saturday, September 1 at 8:00 p.m.
The Subway 200 presented by Sicard Holiday Campers at Cayuga Speedway, race nine in the 12-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on the 5/8ths-mile paved oval in Nelles Corners, Ontario on September 1.
