London Studio Chosen To Design 2012 Torch

A London-based studio is planning a torch, which makes the flame in the Olympic Games of 2012.

The design firm headed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby were selected by the London Olympic organizers to create the torch.

The torch will be carried out by about 8,000 people during the Olympic torch relay of 70 days in the United Kingdom next year. The flame arrives in Greece from May 18, 2012. The relay will end with the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, July 27, 2012.

The torch will be released in June 2011.

The designers based in Shoreditch in the London Borough of Hackney, less than four miles from the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.
